Sorry for the lack of pictures lately. Our little man got a hold of our camera's memory card and we are still attempting to locate it! So here's an update on life in words.
My return to work has been a struggle for me as I attempt to spend as much time with Micah as possible, maintain our home, stay prepared for work, be a loving wife, and maintain my other various responsibilities. The struggle is proving to be quite the juggling act, but I am thankful for God's many reminders/lessons that I don't have to do the juggling. I am trying to learn humility as I hand my failures over to the Lord....and am thankful that His strength is made perfect in my weakness.
Everyday I look forward to picking Micah up from "school" (as he calls it). He greets me with a great big hug and smile. Then he asks "Have a good day?" It's the first thing he asks Jerome when he gets home as well. Micah is always excited to share almost every detail of his day....sometimes over and over and over. He loves to play with with friends and is very concerned about people around him. Micah is underfoot and right in the action whenever Daddy is fixing something, and usually he will retell all the "important" details in the morning for me at breakfast. Micah also has become a great chef! I usually find him pretending to cook everyday and amongst his chatter we'll hear....needs 4 cups sugar. He's been very interested in prayer over the past several months. His bedtime prayers usually include thank yous for family members, the climbing wall, members of Jerome's staff, his family from church, and generally anyone he's ever met. (Then he kicks us out of his room so he can go night night.) He has also been saying things like "Mommy angels with Daddy right now" We have never really talked with Micah about angels. Angels or not I think he's pretty sensitive to the fact that Daddy is sometimes off doing things that require extra prayers of safety.
We aren't really sure if he understands the concept of having a little brother, but he gives brother kisses and hugs. He is starting to understand that Mommy can't play games like belly bumpers right now and he's talking about babies more and more. Hopefully the transition to a larger family will not be too overwhelming for him.
I could go on and on and on as a proud Mommy, but I think I'll call it quits for now. Hopefully pictures will return soon.
