I love how Micah thinks, and I wish I had superpowers to hear all of the thoughts in his 4 year old head. Our most memorable conversations seem to happen in the van or in stores. Here are a couple I'd like to remember.
That Man Is Not Daddy
Monday nights are grocery shopping night in the Gabriel house. They are also my "break" time while the boys get Daddy time. This week Jerome is in the state of Washington and so the boys went shopping with me. Nathaniel was sitting in the cart and suddenly screams with excitement "Dada Dada! Hi! Dada" He was pointing and loudly yelling to a tall skinny man who was bald. Nathaniel was obviously annoyed because the man he thought was Jerome was simply chuckling at him. Micah looked at Nathaniel and quite loudly said "Nathaniel just because that man is tall and bald does not make him your Daddy. Daddy wears flip flops and he is not wearing flip flops."
I Will Not Be Wearing Underpants (A car conversation)
Micah, "Mom someday I am going to be baptized." Me, "Do you know what that means" Micah "It's what you do when you love Jesus." Me, "That's right" Micah, "Mom, I'm not getting baptized today, but when I do I'm certain I will not be wearing underpants.
