SHHHH....It's a Secret!

Teaching our children to love others without expecting anything in return is a principle that is really important to Jerome and me.  In our house this principal takes the form of secret missions.  The boys really LOVE going on these missions.  This week we made cookies for several friends and delivered them to their front door.  The boys' mission was to get the cookies to the front door without being seen and keep our mission a secret!  It was absolutely adorable watching them "sneak" up to deliver the cookies.  What they do not know, because it would defeat the purpose, is I informed everyone who received  cookies that they were from us.  I do not think I would eat goodies from an unknown source, and I did not want them to go to waste.  Other secret missions on our list include:
1) Taping money onto a soda machine with a note that says, "Enjoy a drink on us"
2) Leaving balloons at the hospital and asking a nurse to give them to someone who is all alone and in need of cheering up
3) Picking up trash on the park trails
4 )Leaving  little extra money with a cashier for the next person in line at the store.
